Why I chose Â鶹¹ÙÍø: The main reason I chose Â鶹¹ÙÍø was due to the time I spent here as a student. I was able to see first-hand what a positive environment it was when it came to learning and becoming a better pharmacist. All the preceptors and staff are welcoming and willing to help you learn. Â鶹¹ÙÍø is also in such a beautiful area with tons of outdoor activities, which made my decision much easier.
Professional Interests: Surgery and Internal Medicine

Current Residency Project: Over-treating UTIs or Do We Comply? Review of Antimicrobial Prescribing for Urinary Tract Infections in a Community Hospital Emergency Department
Why I chose Â鶹¹ÙÍø: I was looking for a 300-bed plus community hospital with a large patient population that would expose me to many different disease states. As well as a welcoming team of pharmacists to facilitate my residency year. Coming from the land of 10,000 lakes, Minnesota, I did need to live close to a lake. I found all that and more with Â鶹¹ÙÍø!
Professional Interests: Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, and Internal Medicine
Personal Interests: I enjoy reading, fitness/weight training, music, and spending time with my dog Luna.

¡°I cannot express how excited I was when I received my match notice for the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Pharmacy Residency. As a candidate, I was looking for a staff that would help guide me in the right direction and help me decide my long-term goals as a hospital pharmacist. Here at Kootenai, the flexibility is amazing and opportunities are endless. I was able to customize my year as a resident to fit my passions and goals as a clinician. The staff is energetic and genuine; they all made me feel at home on day one. It is evident they encourage overall well-being and happiness.¡±

“I chose to complete my PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Â鶹¹ÙÍø because they offer a well-rounded experience in an acute-care hospital, and provide many opportunities to positively impact patient care. Â鶹¹ÙÍø has been expanding to accommodate the growing community of Coeur d¡¯Alene and its surrounding areas. As a pharmacy resident, I am excited to play a role in increasing clinical pharmacy services on all patient units.
